Through his unique and tasteful eye, emerging Nigerian
shutterbug Somto Maduka is able to capture the true essence of beauty in even
the most unlikely subjects.
Working under his brand Imagio Photography, Pan Africanism is a huge part of
the 26-year-old’s style because of the eternal love he has for his continent
and its unique, interesting, and vibrant colours which shines through strongly
in his imagery.
The Abuja based creative is the youngest of four siblings
and it his clear his love for imagery has been passed down from his mother, who
is a big lover of photography and bought Maduka his first every digital camera.
He loved taking snaps with his phone and pocket cameras but never gave much
thought about turning his passion into his pay check.
The agricultural and environmental engineering graduate
started taking photography as an art seriously towards the end of 2013. At the
time he was holding down a nine to five that had begun to bore him and Maduka
started looking for a more stimulating and interesting alternative, thus his
love for photography was reborn.
